Gertrude M. Siebenaler, 91, of Kimball, died at the Kimball County Manor on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015.
Gertrude Mae Siebenaler was born in Kimball on Aug. 26, 1923, the daughter of Lucien and Mary (Rall) Siebenaler. She attended country school in Kimball County. She would move with her family during the winters to Texas and help take care of their orchards, and she continued her schooling there. She always helped her parents with the farm work and in later years was their caretaker. Gertrude continued to live on the family farm until moving to Kimball in 1968. She moved to the Assisted Living in 2006.
She loved crafts and making Christmas presents for her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed working in her flower garden. She also liked reading and was known to have made the best brownies. While in assisted living she would always pray for those in need. She had a strong faith and was active in her church.
Survivors include her brother, Wayne (Sharon) Siebenaler of St. Helena, Calif .; sister, Deloris Barclay of Napa, Calif; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert, Leonard, Francis, George and Richard; sister, Dorothy Thummel; and two nieces and two nephews.
A Christian wake service was held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball. Friends were able to call at the funeral home that day from 1-6 p.m.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kimball with Father James Joseph officiating. Burial was in the Kimball Cemetery.
