Grubbs, Blickensderfer wrap up wrestling season

Banner County wrestlers Garrett Grubbs and Brandon Blickensderfer wrapped up the wrestling season at the district tournament over the weekend.

In the 152 weight class, Grubbs opened the championship bracket with a win by fall against Destin Stondley of Minatare, and then topped Boone Turpin of Dundy County-Stratton by fall. In the semifinals, he lost to Joao Barboza of Mullen in a major decision. In the consolation semifinals, Grubbs dropped the match narrowly, in a 5-4 decision to Devon Strunkmartin of Hitchcock County.

Blickensderfer opened with a bye, then dropped a match by fall to Trevor Nelson of Crawford. After a second bye, he lost to Tate Coss of Garden County by fall.
