Lady Wildcats top Minatare to open sub-district play

Banner County opened the sub-district playoffs on Monday with a 43-32 win against Minatare.

The win pitted the fourth-seeded Lady Wildcats against top-seeded Leyton on Tuesday.

The Lady Wildcats (3-16) jumped out to a big 13-2 first quarter lead in Monday’s game and held a 20-10 advantage at halftime. They outscored the Lady Indians (0-17) 23-22 in the second half. Monday’s win was Banner’s third victory against Minatare this season.

Paige Cross led the team offensively with 15 points, while Ashlynne Hanan added 11.
