Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Three members of the Kimball High School speech team earned state berths Monday at the district competition in North Platte. Kimball finished third as a team at the competition.
Darcy Usher, Taylor Muldoon and Leisha Casimiro will each represent Kimball at state. Usher finished first in poetry interpretation, Muldoon took second place in serious prose and Casimiro finished third in informative speaking.
Other competitors included: Ryan Soper, Kaden Adrian, Sebastian Portillo, Nicholas Thomas-Lewis and Paycen Harroun, sixth place in Oral Interpretation of Drama; Jessica Portillo, fifth place in Persuasive Speaking; Connor Moore, fifth place in Humorous Prose; and Kallie Bush, Sanford Day, Audrey Day, Taylor Muldoon and Audrey McDowall, fourth place in Oral Interpretation of Drama.
The team will host an open house at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, in the Harry E. McNees Auditorium. The public is invited to attend in order to see the district team perform their material as well as wish the state qualifiers luck.
