Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Two more Kimball High athletes signed letters of intent Tuesday to continue their education and athletic careers at the college level. Ryan Muneio and Damien Rutledge both signed to attend Midland University with Muneio to participate in track and Rutledge in football.
Kyle Peacock, a former football player for Midland located in Fremont, Nebraska, is now the Admissions Counselor for Midland, and was in town to handle the signing.
Muneio plans on focusing on the middle distance events in college saying he would like to run the 400 and 800, but is leaving his options open. Peacock also said, "We would like to have Ryan try cross country as well but we will leave that up to him. We ask our athletes to try the sports they have the most passion for." At this time, Muneio isn't thinking cross country.
Rutledge said the coaches are looking at him as a middle linebacker and possibly fullback. Peacock echoed that by saying, "We are certainly looking at Damien for a Mike (middle) linebacker role, but here again, we will get him aboard and then see what we think. Our main concern is to get him on the field in what ever capacity works out."
This was the fourth signing by Kimball athletes this year as Jonathon Withrow and Enrique Cajero signed earlier to play football and attend school at Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell, South Dakota.
