Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Kimball students placed well last Friday at the Chadron State College Scholastic contest. Over 1,100 students from 45 high schools competed in 44 different exams that cover every aspect of the high school curriculum. Students representing Kimball High School that placed in the top 25 percent of a test included the following:
Tyler Shaw, first in animal science and fourth in veterinary science; Ryan Soper, first in plane geometry; Jessica Hanks, third in literature, fourth in health and seventh in English usage; Kennedy Lewis, fourth in general science and 12th in algebra II; Colton Stull, fifth in personal finance and eighth in accounting; Kallie Bush, fifth in music; Rowdy Keller, 10th in general anatomy and physiology; Arica McCloud, 12th in trigonometry; and Audrey Day, 16th in world history.
Each student who placed in the top 25 percent receives a certificate and the three students who placed in the top three receive a medal. As a school, Kimball placed fourth out of 14 schools in Division III. St. Thomas More of Rapid City, S.D., was the Division III winner. Tyler Shaw also qualifies for a one-year tuition waiver to CSC as a senior that placed first in a test.
