Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Congratulations to Kimball High School's May Student of the Month, Sanford Day.
Sanford has participated in many activities throughout high school. He was part of the golf team as a freshman and sophomore, and during his junior year he participated in Mock Trial. Sanford loves music, and throughout high school he has been heavily involved in band. He played the tenor saxophone his freshman year and then moved to the baritone saxophone the past three years. He was a member of jazz band his first three years and volunteered in his senior Christmas concert. He joined the Speech Team as a sophomore and in the past three years he medaled multiple times in Entertainment, Duet, Serious, and OID events. His favorite memories come from band and speech.
Sanford has worked at the Kimball County Manor since May 2014. He is an avid reader of comic books and he loves to write. He will attend Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff this coming August and after earning an Associate's Degree, Sanford plans to transfer to the University of Nebraska Omaha. Sanford would like to thank his friends, family, and the community for all of their support during his time at Kimball Public Schools.
Sanford will receive a $25 gift certificate from the Lion's Club and is now eligible for a $500 Lion's Club Student of the Month Scholarship to be presented yearly to one of the "making a difference" winners.
We are very proud to have Sanford Day as a student at Kimball Junior/Senior High School and one who is "making a difference."
