Grubbs, Thurin awarded local 4-H scholarships

The Kimball-Banner Counties 4-H Council is proud to announce that Christina Grubbs of Harrisburg and Preston Thurin of Pine Bluffs are the recipients of the 2015 4-H Council Scholarships of $500 each for use at their chosen university or college.

Christina is a graduate of Banner County High School and is the daughter of Curtis and Vickie Grubbs. She is a 11-year-member of 4-H and has served as a representative on the 4-H Council as well as president of the Central Banner 4-H Club. Christina's projects include market beef, photography and foods. Christina plans to major in animal science at the Laramie County Community College.

Preston Thurin is a graduate of Pine Bluffs High School and is the son of Matt and Carla Thurin. He is a 10-year-member of 4-H and has served as a representative on the 4-H Council. He is a member of the Pleasant View Livestock 4-H Club. Preston's 4-H projects include beef, sheep, swine and welding. Preston plans to attend the University of Wyoming and major in physical education.
