Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
The Kimball volleyball team swept its competition last week. The Lady Longhorns rolled to wins last Tuesday against Hemingford and Gordon-Rushville, and then easily dispatched Pine Bluffs last Thursday.
The Lady Longhorns are now 9-1 on the season.
"The varsity team had their best game of the season so far," coach Jeri Ferguson said after Thursday's win over Pine Bluffs. "On offense we served well, passed well and moved the ball around on the attacks. Raelynn Hinton was all over the floor, she hit well and her serving was great. Ali (Hunsaker) and Madie (Snyder) made some great passes. Mikayla (Fiehtner) and Danika (Daum) were finding holes left and right. Madison (Biesecker) was setting great hittable balls and made very sound decisions with her sets. Myriah (Tyan) hit well and made some incredible defensive plays. Hannah Biesecker continues to improve and adds a whole new dimension to our team. At this point in our young season I couldn't be more pleased with all 24 of the girls."

"We were very excited to see our freshmen get their first win of the season," Ferguson said. "They have improved a great deal and we are very pleased with their progress. Unfortunately, our JV did not play as well as they have been and suffered their first loss of the season. We are very confident that they learned valuable lessons from that game and will continue to improve and move forward. Coach (Erin) Monheiser and I are very pleased with the progress of these girls."
