Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
It was a busy week for the Kimball cross country teams last week with meets in Ogallala and Scottsbluff.
The Kimball boys finished sixth in Scottsbluff and eighth in Ogallala, while the girls finished fifth in Scottsbluff and eighth in Ogallala.
"A lot of the kids continue to make personal records and beat them, and they are all running very well," said Kimball coach Tiffany Johnson. "We are really excited for the coming meets to see how we do."
Sidney won the boys meet in Ogallala, with Holdredge second and McCook finishing third.
Brandon Barker paced Kimball with an eighth place finish in 18:01. Next up for Kimball was Zachary Wagner who came in 18th overall and had a total time of 18:34. Kaden Adrian and Nicholas Thomas-Lewis finished 47th and 48th, respectively, with times of 20:46 and 20:49. Next up for Kimball was Joel Evertson who came in at 55th overall with a time of 21:21. Thomas Lenzen finished 58th in 21:32.
Gothenburg won the girls varsity race, followed by Cozad and Sidney.
Kailey Dickerson led Kimball with a 34th place finish in 24:29.
Next up for Kimball was Alex Reader, who finished 39th with a time of 25:36. Arica McCloud took 48th in 28:43, Kennedy Lewis finished 50th in 28:49 and Monica Wasielewski finished 51st in 29:03.
The Kimball cross country team also competed in the Panhandle Classic last Tuesday, Sept. 22.
Gering won the boys race, followed by Mitchell and Bridgeport.
Barker finished ninth with a time of 18:15 to lead the Longhorns. Next up was Kody Spencer, who came in 15th overall with a time of 18:48.
Thomas-Lewis finished 42nd in 21:07, closely followed by Adrian in 43rd in 21:07.72. Lenzen took 45th in 21:12, Joel Evertson finished 59th in 22:17, Garrett Pedersen had a time of 23:37 and finished 72nd, Devin Gardner took 84th in 24:55 and Sebastian Portillo took 86th in 26:15.
Gering also won the girls meet in Scottsbluff, followed by Chadron and then the home team.
Dickerson led the Lady Longhorns with a 24th place finish in 23:54. Reader was next up, coming in at 38th with a time of 26:09. Lewis finished in 28:34, Wasielewski finished in 28:34.28 and Patricia Casimiro finished in 29:16.
