Lady Wildcats pick up second win

The Banner County volleyball team picked up its second win of the season last week as it topped Sioux County in the Morrill tournament.

The Lady Wildcats opened play in the Saturday tournament with a 2-1 win over Sioux County. They won by scores of 24-26, 25-10 and 25-13.

Paige Cross led the team offensively with nine kills, while MaKenna Dahlgrin chipped in with seven kills and two blocks. Shay White led the way with three aces. Savannah Jordan and Cross had six assists each.

The Lady Wildcats then dropped a 25-20 and 25-9 match to Morrill in the tournament.

Danielle Flick led the team from the serving line with two aces, while four players had one kill each. Cross led the way with four digs, while Jordan had a team-high three assists.

Banner County wrapped up tournament play with a 25-6 and 25-9 loss to Mitchell.

Dahlgrin had a team-high four kills and three blocks in the match. Cross led the team with five digs and three assists.

Last Thursday, the Lady Wildcats fell at South Platte, 3-0. They lost 25-8, 25-9 and 25-16.

White led the team with two kills and six digs, while Cross had a team-high three assists.

After Tuesday’s home triangular with Garden County and Minatare, the Lady Wildcats return to the court Friday for a 4:30 p.m. homecoming match against Arthur County.
