Potter-Dix wins MAC volleyball tourney

Potter-Dix swept through its competition Saturday to win the MAC volleyball tournament.

The first team to be defeated by the Lady Coyotes that Saturday was the Minatare Indians. Potter-Dix won 25-8 and 25-9.

Dawson Sharman had a total of 10 kills that match, easily making her the leader of her team in the game against the Indians. The two closest leaders in kills next to Sharman were Trinity Langley, a sophomore, and Anna McLaughlin, a senior, both of whom had two kills each.

Next up to be defeated Saturday was the Bayard Tigers. The Tigers played hard and well but could not overcome the Lady Coyotes and were defeated after two tiring sets, the final scores being 25-19 and 25-20.

Sharman was again the leader in kills for the game with a total of 6. Alexus Rozelle was right behind her with a total of 5, and behind Rozelle was Regyn Hicks and Anna McLaughlin, both with a total of 4 kills. Audrey Juelfs had a total of 3.

The last team the Lady Coyotes played in Saturday's tournament was the Leyton Warriors. Like the Tigers before them they played well, being beaten out of the first set by only 3 points. The second set was a little more rough, with the final score being 25-11, and that was that for the Warriors.

Rozelle lead her team in kills that game with a total of 10. Hicks was next with a total of 7. Sharman and McLaughlin both ended up with a total of 3 kills, and Lanie Thies ended the game with 1.
