The Potter-Dix varsity volleyball team continued its winning ways on Monday night as the squad eliminated Banner County, 3-0, in the first round of D2-11 subdistrict playoff action at Bridgeport.
The game, which the Lady Coyotes won 25-11, 25-13 and 25-6, featured a true team effort as six different players on head coach Sarah Dvorak's squad led in each of the six statistical columns.
Starting out on offense, Dawson Sharman was once again the leader at the net with six kills, followed closely by Anna McLaughlin with five. Six more Lady Coyotes – CC George, Payge Hoffman, Alexus Rozelle, Trinity Langley, Audrey Juelfs and Lanie Thies – each scored on a pair of kills apiece.
Jenna Thies and Regyn Hicks each logged one in the game.
From the line, Juelfs served up six aces on 29 serves, with Sharman adding three of her own on 11 attempts.
Back at the net, on the defensive side of the ball, Hicks and Langley logged a pair of blocks, with Juelfs adding one of her own in the late set.
When it came to receiving the ball and setting it for the kill, Rozelle took 11 digs and two receptions, while McLaughlin received four. Thies led in assists with 13 sets on 37 tries.
The win catapults the Lady Coyotes to a 25-3 record overall. Tonight, they will face a rematch with South Platte (9-14 overall) at Bridgeport in the second round of subdistrict action.
