Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Deer hunters will take to the hills and fields of Western Nebraska this Saturday for the start of the Firearm Deer season.
For those adventurous outdoorsmen who wanted to get an earlier attempt at filling their deep freeze, and for those who are adept with the art of bow and arrow, such as Nathan Southard, you got the job done when archery season opened, and is still on-going.
Southard, a Chadron State College student in his final year at the school of his choice, prefers the sport of archery for his deer and turkey hunting and filled his turkey permit earlier. He turns to the shotgun for the waterfowl hunting, however. Nathan downed this magnificent Whitetail buck this past Saturday, Nov. 7 at approximately 10 a.m. from his tree stand along the North Platte River. The 10 point whitetail buck had an estimated score of around 145 he was told.
A reminder to all deer hunters going afield this Saturday to be sure and get permission on the lands you plan to hunt and read up on the rules and regulations. Also... BE SAFE!
Note: Hunters, get us your pictures and info and we can share it with our readers.
