The Banner County Lady Wildcats faced some tough opposition when they hosted the Potter-Dix Lady Coyotes Friday, Feb. 12.
With senior Paige Cross out for an ankle injury, and senior Shaylee White in foul trouble and soon out of the game with four personal fouls and a technical, the Lady Cats struggled to find their rhythm.
Leading for the Lady Wildcats was Emily Singleton with eight points to her credit, with two for two shooting from the line and two treys.
Courtney Knisley followed with seven points, netting three of four two-point shots and one free throw, followed by MaKenna Dahlgrin and Jadyn Cross with three points each.
Dahlgrin grabbed seven rebounds, followed by Cross with four, Knisley with three and sophomore Sierra Flores with one.
Potter-Dix had two double-digit scorers led by Anna McLaughlin with 14, 6/9 from inside the arc and 2/2 from the line while Audrey Juelfs added 11, netting four of six two-pointers and again perfect shooting from the line, with three for three.
Payge Hoffman, Alexus Rozelle and Trinity Langley each added eight points to the board, followed by Brooke Glass with seven and Dawson Sharman with five.
The Lady Wildcats more than doubled the rebounds of their hosts, grabbing 31 altogether, and racking up 22 assists and 25 steals compared to one and five respectively for the Banner County girls.
