Lady Longhorn Mikayla Fiehtner, shown here with parents, John and Joelle Fiehtner and Coach Jeri Ferguson, signed a commitment letter for Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Iowa, on a two-year volleyball scholarship. Fiehtner will be playing mostly outside hitter for the Panthers. Fiehtner's mother, Pearl Madrid of Kansas, was represented by a big "congrats" bouquet of balloons and a large teddy bear and her sister, Taylor Muldoon, along with her grandma, Diana Fiehtner, were also present for the signing. "When you have a team like we did – we were really good, Mikayla was really good. She was the intangible that made a difference in a lot of the games," Ferguson said. "Her best games were the last two or three games, which is what you want from every athlete. She's a really good passer and I am anxious to see what a college will do with her. She's a special player."
