David A. Allison, 67, of Dix, died at the VA Hospital in Cheyenne on Thursday, March 17, 2016. Cremation has been held and graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar 22, 2016 at the Dix Cemetery with Pastor Mel Daves officiating. Memorials have been established to the VA Hospice in Cheyenne and Children's Hospital in Denver. The arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball.
David Allen Allison was born in Kimball, Nebraska on August 12, 1948, the son of Otto and Verda (Southard) Allison. He was raised and attended school in Dix and graduated from the Dix High School in 1966. He was married to Judy Peterson in Kimball on June 2, 1967. Dave was drafted into the US Navy and served his country during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on January 26, 1970. The family moved back to Kimball and Dave farmed on the family farm with his father-in-law. He operated a ranch north of Dix for 5 years. Dave then worked for the State of Nebraska Road Department for 11 years and then Judy's parents retired they took over the family farming operation. Dave and Judy continued to farm until retireing in 2011. He loved fishing and hunting and spending time teaching his children and grandchildren about these sports. Dave enjoyed many trips fishing to North Dakota and Glendo Resiviour in Wyoming.
Survivors include his wife Judy Allison of Dix, Nebraska; son Mike (Kathy) Allison of Gillette, WY; daughter Denice Browning and Jeff Teague of Kimball; brother Steve (Nancy) Allison of Gillette, WY; sisters Karen (Ben) Weise of Council Bluffs, IA., and Diane Diemoz of Sidney, NE; grandchildren Austin Allison and Megan Browning. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brothers Fred Allison, son-in-law Drew Browning and nephew Tyler Weise.
