Leland R. Smith

Leland "Lee" R. Smith, 47 of Gering passed away Sunday March 27, 2016 at Regional West Medical Center. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Friday, April 1, 2016 at 3:00 p.m., at the Smith farm , 3513 Spur 4A, Harrisburg with Pastor Ken Boston officiating. Lee was born October 31, 1968 to Robert and Winnifred (Downer) Smith in Scottsbluff. He attended school in Banner County where he graduated in 1987. He also attended WNCC for one year. He married Bobbie Eskam March 28, 1987. They have three beautiful girls Tawnie Jo, Riley Reanne and Torrye Lynne, who Lee enjoyed and loved spending time with.

Lee farmed, ranched and drove truck for years. He was currently employed at Paul Reed Construction as a heavy equipment operator.

Lee is survived by his mother Winnifred Smith, daughters Tawnie and Chris Kling of Gering, Riley and Perry McNees of Hermosa, SD and Torrye Smith of Scottsbluff; grandsons Kadin Lee Smith, Bronson Kalo McNees and Whitley Roland McNees; sister Sandie and Steve Adrian of Casper, WY.

He was preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents, father Robert Smith, brother Bernie Smith and his daughter Toni Lee Smith.
