Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
The Potter Dix Lady Coyotes had a strong showing at Bayard finishing fourth with 57 points. Alexus Rozelle captured two gold medals in winning the shot put at 37'11" and the discus with a winning throw of 115'5".
The Lady Coyotes scored big in the field events as Cortney Lewis was fourth in the shot at 31'6" and sixth in the discus at 89'0".
A one-two finish in the high jump with Regyn Hicks winning at 5'0" and Anna McLaughlin second at 4'10". Hicks was sixth in the long jump at 14'9". Trinity Langley won the triple jump at 32'8.5", and Payton Franklin was sixth in the pole vault at 7'0".
On the track, Payge Hoffman ran sixth in the 100 meter hurdles in 17.7 and just missed a place in the 300 hurdles finishing 7th in 57.04.
The 4 x 100 relay team of Payton Franklin, Savannah Shaw, Anna McLaughlin and Trinity Langley ran sixth in 58.87.
The Potter-Dix boys wound up 11th with 24.5 points and were hit hard by graduation a year ago. Sam Bogert is back from that record-setting relay team of a year ago and ran sixth in the 400 meters with his time of 57.63. Coby Hicks had a strong day, running second in the 110 meter hurdles in 16.5 and fifth in the 300 hurdles in 48.09.
The Coyotes piled up points in the vault with Hicks second at 12'0, Tyrus Gawith third at 11'0", and Bogert tied for fifth at 10'0". Potter Dix is headed to the Grant meet this Saturday, April 9.
