Chestnut Street in downtown Kimball was lined with cars as area residents came out to support the grand re-opening of the Goodhand Theatre on Friday, May 6. Late in 2015 a group of citizens joined together to form the Friends of the Goodhand Theatre. Their purpose was to renovate the old movie theater and show films in it once again. After months of work, the theater was re-opened on the 62nd anniversary of the original grand opening. Fittingly, the movie shown during the re-opening was "Money From Home," the same movie shown that first night. Future plans include showing movies in the Gotte Park during the summer months and continuing to show films in the grand old theater.
