Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
New improvements at the Kimball Public Swimming Pool have manager, Carla Goranson excited to get the pool open again this summer, though forecasted weather may delay the opening.
The City of Kimball has ordered a basketball hoop, additional tables, umbrellas and lounge chairs for the public to enjoy at the pool.
Goranson, said that she is very excited to get the pool up and open again and added that she enjoys hearing the children laugh and enjoy themselves during their time spent at the public pool, although this year it may be postponed somewhat due to the forecasted weather.
“We have moved the opening day back to June 6,” explained Goranson. “Hopefully by then the air temperature will be warm enough so we can have consistent days of operating.”
According to Goranson, she will be staffed with 18 lifeguards this year to focus on the water safety for young people.
Goranson expects the usual pool games and prizes during the annual Fourth of July holiday but added that she may try a sidewalk chalk art contest as well.
“We are excited for these new improvements!” shared Goranson.
