Gordon Buckle Jr., 83, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Sunday, June 12, 2016 at his home in Columbus.

Gordon James Buckle Jr., loving husband, father, and grandfather, was born on November 16, 1932, to Gordon and Barbara (Shaver) Buckle Sr. in Arkansas City, Kansas. He was raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and upon graduation from Northeast High School, he attended the University of Oklahoma. Gordon entered the United States Army on October 11, 1951, and was stationed in Alaska during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on September 8, 1953. After his military service, Gordon attended the University of Houston, graduating with a Bachelor's of Applied Science in Industrial Electronics. He worked for Bell Labs and ITT Labs in North Carolina. Gordon was united in marriage to Wilda (Johnson) Sealey, joining their families together in Kimball, Nebraska, on November 1, 1969. The couple resided in Kimball where Gordon worked with his father for many years in their electrical business: Basin Engineering. Gordon was involved with the Jaycees and many other community volunteer organizations in Kimball. He retired in 1988. Gordon and Wilda moved to Columbus, Nebraska, in 2003.
Gordon was affiliated with the Church of Christ, Scientist. He served as a Chapter President of the AARP in Columbus. Gordon greatly enjoyed painting, square dancing, travelling and camping with his wife Wilda and life in general. They were members of Harold's Squares and the Wyo-Braska Oregon Trailers camping club. He will be greatly missed by many.
Gordon is survived by his wife, Wilda Buckle of Columbus, daughters Judy Grammatopoulo of Mauritius, Betty Lou (Tony) Schwartz of Mustang, OK, Shannon (Brian) Donnelly of Franklin, TN, Linda Buckle of Aurora, CO, Kerri Nohr of Cumberland, IN, son Denzil Buckle of Julesburg, CO, sister Eileen Low of Owasso, OK, 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Gordon was preceded in death by parents Gordon J. and Barbara Buckle Sr. and son James Buckle.
