Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Kimball Childcare Center and After School Program announced on Monday, June 20, in a press release that they will be closing the doors on Thursday, June 30, 2016.
The release states, “It is with regret that we are closing this service but we cannot continue operations due to fiscal concerns. We thank the community of Kimball for approaching our organization to provide this service and again, regret our closing.”
The child care center was first opened at the Kimball Health Services north campus, where the West Elementary once stood, in January of 2014.
Volunteers of America – Western Nebraska, a national, non-profit organization, was contacted to make the child care center a reality by Kimball Health Services shortly after KHS purchased the unused elementary school.
The organization has developed child care centers in Potter, Chappel, Big Springs and Oshkosh and was in charge of the administration of the local child care center, including contracts, licensing, policies, payroll and taxes.
Current enrollment at the facility includes 25 children ranging in age from 8 months to eight years old.
