Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Burglars and vandals have broken into at least two Kimball businesses this past week.
"This is a very sensitive case and we are not at a point to comment in detail at this time," Kimball Chief of Police, Darren Huff said. "However, I can tell you there were two businesses that were burglarized either late Monday (June 20) or early Tuesday (June 21) morning. The Kimball Police Department is presently investigating leads and processing evidence to bring the individual(s) responsible to justice."
Wolf Automotive Center, one of the businesses burglarized, offered anyone with information a $1,000 cash reward, if the information would lead to an arrest and conviction of those responsible for the damage and losses they incurred.
According to Mike Petko, of Wolf the incidences happened here in Kimball in the early morning hours, Monday, June 20.
"We are very disappointed that this happened,"Petko said. "We hate for the folks who live here in our community to have to experience crime that usually happens in the larger cities, and we are hoping that people will take a stand against this. Our (Wolf Auto) motto is 'Small Town Strong', this will not be tolerated in our community."
Due to the on-going investigation being conducted by the Kimball Police Department, Petko declined to offer specific details of damages, or what was stolen from the auto center - but, said that it was extensive.
Schadegg Motors, located on Walnut Street in Kimball, was also subjected to theft and damages to their property. Schadegg declined comments until the Kimball Police Department is able to secure their investigation of the crime.
Additionally, Norm Christensen, owner of Kimball Auto Parts, found and reported a vehicle, belonging to Teresa Parkos of Kimball, abandoned on the west side of his building.
It is currently unknown if this car has any ties to the burglaries and vandalism.
"We are investigating all evidentiary leads," Huff concluded.
