Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Friends and Neighbors: Cadence Temple

A love for books goes beyond a career for Kimball's newest librarian, as when she has a day off from the Kimball Public Library, Cadence Temple will wander around books stores "just to be around them."

Temple and her husband, Richard, both grew up and graduated in Minden, La., located just a hop and a jump from Shreveport.

Following graduation, the couple both attended LSU in Baton Rouge, where Temple studied English and Mass Communications.

The couple chose Kimball for Richard's job opportunity with the NRCS Office located in downtown Kimball at the USDA building.

During her time at the local library Temple enjoys meeting and getting to know some of Kimball's population.

"Kimball is the smallest community that I've ever lived in," she said. "It's a wonderful community."

Temple shared that reading is a hobby of hers, but that she and her husband both enjoy camping and hope to do some in the near future.

"We love all of the State parks that are around here," she said. "We have a dog, Jaxon, a German Shorthair and we love taking him out to Oliver and places like that."

Though the Temples enjoy the citizens and the community they plan to eventually return to Louisiana to be closer to family, but they plan to stay put here in Kimball for at least one more year.
