Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Banner County head coach Charles Jones will continue focusing on fundamentals in practice following the Wildcats 91-13 loss against the Arthur County Wolves.
"We faced a very good Arthur team and we had trouble with their speed on both sides of the ball," Jones said. "We are getting to the right places for the most part we just have to finish plays."
The young Banner County team will work on finishing plays during practices as well, according to Jones, and he is already seeing improvement across the roster.
"I felt that all of our players improved from the week before, Gage Alexander and Brandon Blickensderfer played well for us," he said.
The Wildcats are anticipating a tough away game on Friday, Sept. 9 against the Potter-Dix Coyotes, who also suffered at the hands of Arthur County earlier this season.
"We have to work towards the game this week with Potter Dix, we have to eliminate our mistakes to be able to give us a chance to compete with them," he said. "They do things well and we will have to be ready for them."
