As high winds blew through Western Nebraska on Monday, Oct. 17, many Kimball residents and businesses reported inconsistent power and complete outages. Additional mayhem caused by the gusts include this downed power pole, which landed on the 4-H building at the Kimball County Fairgrounds, perhaps adding to the power outages. City crews, Kimball Police and Kimball County Sheriff's Office responded quickly to protect passersby, remove the hazard and restore power.
