Teresa was born September 14, 1948 in Scottsbluff Nebraska to the late Donald and Clara (Abbott) Barr. She spent her childhood in Scottsbluff with her sisters Sandra and Donna. She married Timothy Fowlkes in 1965, and was blessed with two children, Kim and Kevin. In 1974 she married, the love of her life, Tom Whitaker and was blessed with two additional children Kandi and Kellie. While her children were young she devoted her time to them. As they grew older she was employed at the Kimball County Manor where she spent 25 dedicated years.

If you knew Teresa well you knew she had an energetic and determined personality. If she set her mind to something you should probably help or simply get out of her way, she had an iron will. If she considered you to be family or a friend you knew that no matter what, she was in your corner and had your back. She was committed to her family and despite the trials, hardships and losses of life she stayed the course - One might have considered her a tough old bird.

She had numerous passions in life - her children, grandchildren, gardening, gambling, shopping, and Disney - not necessarily in that order.

Teresa is survived by her daughters Kim (Steve) Wood, Kandi (Rick) Weinbender and son Kevin (Anessa). Her sisters Sandra (Richard) Greene, Donna Baird. Grandchildren Shalea, Allen, Adieline, Jessica, Josh, Matt, Maddy, Berlin, Nachelle and Taneal as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; 2 nieces; her husband, Tom; and her beloved daughter, Kellie.
