Helen was born September 9, 1929 at Mitchell, Nebraska to David and Anna (Gabel) Eskam. She was united in marriage to Carl Schneider on August 5, 1949 at Torrington, WY. To this union four children were born: Shirley (Royce) Crossman, Rod (Sandy) Schneider, Diana Schmall, and Kevin (Vickie) Schneider. Helen and Carl lived and farmed in the Minatare area all their married lives.
Helen lived a long and fruitful life that we can all aspire to emulate. She was a hard-working woman who loved being outdoors and gardening. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cook, and sew. In her later years, she enjoyed gambling and the wonderful friends she made. She was a member of Salem Congregational Church. Kevin would like to thank Vickie and great-grandchildren Evan, Katlin, and Justin for helping him take care of his mother the past few years; he loves you very much.
Besides her children, Helen is survived by 9 grandchildren: Troy (Misty) Crossman, Joel (Trish) Crossman, Jennifer (Mike) Greenwood, Chad (Melissa) Schneider, Julie (Paul) Siebke, Brant (Lark) Schmall, Hillary (David) Sierra, Keith Van Winkle, and Jon Cobert; 13 great-grandchildren; and sister Violet (George) Knaub; sister-in-law Dorothy Eskam; brother-in-law Melvin Schneider; and nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl Schneider, son-in-law Harry Schmall, brother Elmer, and sisters Esther and Darlene.
