Gladys I. Hundley, 82, of Kimball, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, December 7, 2016. Cremation has been held and services will be held at a later date. Friends may visit http://www.cantrellfh.com to leave condolences and messages for the family. Memorials may be given to the family or the American Alzheimer’s Association. The services for Gladys have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.
Gladys Irene Hundley was born in Protection, Kansas on January 12, 1934, the daughter of Ralph and Gertrude (Campbell) Wertz. She moved with her family to Kersey, Colorado and attended school and graduated from the Kersey High School in 1952. She moved with her family to Casper and worked for many of the hotels as a cook. Gladys was married to Donald Hundley in Kimball in 1954. Later in life she attended the Casper Community College and received her certification as a chef. Gladys was an accomplished chef and won several awards as a Sous Chef and made many ice sculptures. She also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Gladys enjoyed crafts and crochet and knitted many things for family and friends. She also liked to play bingo and spent many Sunday afternoons at the VFW playing bingo. She loved her family and had a strong faith in God, which she shared with her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter Christina Fernandez and fiancé Telly Snell of Kimball; brother Ronald (Alma) Wertz of Kersey, CO; sisters Louise Danielson of Kimball, NE., and Minerva Fry of Kimball, NE; she is also survived by her beloved pet dog Coco. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ralph Wertz, Jr., brother-in-law Dale Danielson, nephews Roger Danielson and Ron Wertz, Jr., and numerous other family members.
