Wayne R. Marshall, 88, of Kimball, Nebraska, died at the Kimball County Manor on Thursday, March 16, 2017. Cremation has been held and memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to Calvary United Methodist Church in Bushnell, Nebraska or the Bushnell Volunteer Fire Department.. Wayne Russell Marshall was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin on February 9, 1929, the son of Harold and Edna (Hoff) Marshall. He attended country school through the 8th grade and graduated from Melrose High School in 1947. He honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953, driving a fuel truck while being stationed in Alaska. Wayne was married to Roberta Stahl in Denver on June 12, 1964. He worked as a machinist for Sunstrand Aviation from 1965 -1978. In 1978 they bought their own orchard in Eckert, CO and operated that until 1983. They moved to Brighton, Colorado and he worked as a truck driver for Brinks, Inc. He then retired due to health problems. They moved to Bushnell in 1997 and lived there until moving to Vista Villa in Kimball, Nebraska in August of 2016. He enjoyed wood working and furniture building and enjoyed stone polishing and cutting, making many pieces of jewelry. Wayne enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He and Roberta enjoyed camping and traveling, including trips to Canada and Mexico.
Survivors include his wife Roberta Marshall of Kimball, NE; cousins Carol Snuggerud of Portland, OR., and Lois Oedsma of Galesville, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents and several cousins including Art Hoff.
