Edna P. Hilpert

Edna P. Hilpert, age 91 of Potter, NE passed away at Sidney Care and Rehabilitaion in Sidney, Sunday, June 18, 2017.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, June 23rd, in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, fourteen miles northeast of Potter with Pastor Ted Bourret officiating. Burial followed in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Edna's name to the Lutheran Hour, St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Potter or the Potter Fire and Rescue Department. Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC was in charge of Edna's care and funeral arrangements.

Edna Pauline (Schubarth) Hilpert, was born on April 8, 1926 to Arthur Otto Joseph and Lydia Concordia (Steffens) Schubarth in Potter. She was married to Elmer Edgar Hilpert on December 9, 1945 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. They lived on their farm northeast of Potter, until she had to move to Sidney Care and Rehab about one and a half years ago. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Potter.

Survivors include her (5) children: Jim and Diana Hilpert of Sugarland, Texas; Mary Ann and Arlen Kasten of Potter; Kathie and Mike Kasten of Brighton, Colorado; Robert and Vicki Hilpert of Potter; and Tammy and Todd Gasseling of Madrid, Nebraska; (17) grandchildren; (27) great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, her (2) sisters Viola Hilpert and Hilda Jacobs, her (4) brothers, George, Walter, Rudy, and Butch, and their spouses. Edna was the last of this Schubarth family to pass away.
