Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Nestled between two highways, the gardens of Kathy and Gene Franks at 4323 E. Hwy. 30 in Kimball offer privacy, natural beauty and peace.
Their home is surrounded by Evergreens and Sumac bushes which are pruned and trimmed regularly to grow into trees that offer relief from highway noise and shade visitors and hostas from the sun.
A well landscaped lawn, complete with a "John Deere green" sign announcing their name and address, welcomes guests and an inviting xeriscaped bed, designed by Kimball High School student Aroon Flores and made a reality by both Aroon and his brother, Uziel, sits in the center of their circle drive.
The garden beds wrap around their home and boast bright pops of color from petunias, Easter lillies, day lillies, tiger lillies, peonies, roses, purple sage and mums.
