Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
David Lloyd Stecks was born on May 2, 1937 in Kimball, Nebraska. His parents, Lloyd and Zoe Stecks of Bushnell, Nebraska have predeceased him. David graduated from Kimball County High School in 1954 and worked in wheat farming with his father for several years. He then moved to Seattle, Washington where he worked at Boeing.
He was married to Nancy Sue Young of Kimball for over 20 years and together they raised sons, Christopher Stecks (Linda) of Kenmore, Washington and Keith Stecks (Irma) of Vista, California and daughter, Rebecca VonMueller (Gilford) of San Diego, all of whom survive him.
He is survived by five grandchildren, Jordan, Jenae, Casey, Lauren and Jesse plus six great grandchildren. He was very proud of his family. He is also survived by his sister, Sally Hutson of San Jose, two nieces and a nephew.
Eventually David moved to the San Diego area where for 15 years he was a Manager for DoAll Corporation. For over 9 years he happily lived on his boat in the Oceanside Harbor. He was married to Judy Randall of Oceanside for a number of years. In 2011 David moved to Hemet, California where he and his boxer dog Toby met wonderful neighbors and friends.
David passed away peacefully in Hemet on September 2, 2017 from pancreatic cancer. Family members were at his side.
A "Celebration of Dave's Life" party was held in March 2017 which he enjoyed immensely! No other services are planned.
