Oscar G. (Butch) Linn

Oscar Gustav (Butch) Linn, Jr. passed away at Bella Vista in Rapid city, SD on September 22, 2017. He passed away from complications with Alzheimer's.

Butch was born February 23, 1928 in Kimball, Nebraska to Oscar G Linn, Sr. and Ruby Mae (Neely) Linn. He was united in marriage to Ruth Karen Hagstrom on June 20, 1948. He served in the Army from March 20th, 1952 to February 20th, 1954 and in the reserves until March 19, 1960. One of the happiest days for their marriage was the day they were able to bring home their beautiful baby boy from the Nebraska Children's Home in Omaha, Nebraska.

He led an active life farming. Many people have had him help on many projects. They included carpentry, plumbing, wiring, welding and brick work. There wasn't much he wouldn't tackle and that included his years with the Banner County Bank. He never failed to have time to help someone out or to stop and talk. His handy work could especially be seen at Camp Rock in Redington.

He is survived by his wife Ruth, son John R. (Rick) and wife Becky; grandchildren Chad Linn and fiancé Lucy Jackson and their children Max and Liam; Heath (Rochelle) Linn, and Amanda Linn and her boyfriend Tyler Schroll and great granddaughter Lexie Edwards; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Moore and Barbara Jane (Carl) Love.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law, two sisters, Anna Margaret Petersen and her husband Henry and Ruby Fern Ghan and her husband Red, brother-in-law Dick Moore.

A memorial service and interment will take place at a future date in Kimball, NE. A memorial has been established to Camp Rock in Redington, NE.
