Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
I would like to thank you for the Friends & Neighbors article from your November 2nd edition that recognized my good friend and “twin brother” (although from different mothers) Mr. Ed Avila.
Since the day in September 1966 that Ed stood up in 7th grade vocal class and volunteered to be a friend and guide at school to the new kid from Cortez we have remained close friends and I have seen his devotion to Kimball and its young people.
Ed’s work with all of the young men who participated in Kimball boxing throughout the years provided a fathers influence to a lot of lives. Although he has had job opportunities in other cities Ed has made Kimball his home for his entire life and has always been a huge supporter of the community and the people who make up the town. Congratulations to my long time friend for well deserved recognition!
