Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
The Kimball Parade of Lights lit up the streets of downtown Kimball like the stars in the North Pole on a Christmas night. A total of 11 floats decorated in Christmas spirit rolled through Second Street Saturday night.
Parade goers saw many pickups and trailers dressed in holiday best, with lights and tinsel, and Santa Claus' everywhere you looked. From tractors, to '57 Chevys, to small trains, and fire trucks, so many different things for all ages to enjoy.
First place in this years Parade of Lights went to the Kimball Ranch Rodeo Committee, with their flat bed decorated with Frosty, Christmas Trees, hay bales, saddles and the one decoration that some think won them the prize, the lovable cow dog, Hank.
Second place was given to the Event Center, with their flying reindeer and Santa in his sleigh, gifts under the white Christmas Tree, the kids warm and toasty by the fire, and the "big kids" on their sleds getting pulled behind.
By all accounts, it was a fun night with weather you couldn't beat if you tried.
Saturday's parade was the official start of Christmas in Kimball, be sure to join more activities this Saturday, and each weekend to come as Christmas looms ever closer.
