Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Deven Sullivan, Banner County's sole wrestler, works to control his opponent at his home tournament. He placed fourth on his home mats, winning by decision over Bryce Seier of Morrill and Dustin Swartwood of Lingle-Ft. Laramie and lost by fall twice to Josh Warren of Bridgeport and Luis Chafino of Holyoke.
"Deven definitely made some big strides forward. We avenged a loss from last week in a big way, and gave him some confidence going forward. I was happy to see that the work he put in this last week helped him fix some of the mistakes from the previous week," Coach Bill Gifford said. "He still has a long way to go, but we are attacking it one thing at a time, one step at a time. Our goal is to work our way to the next level, then the next level, and so on. I was really pleased with his wrestling this week, and he showed me that he is committed to learning the sport."
