Another year, another Kimball Banner County Chamber of Commerce annual meeting in the books.
The meeting began with Board President, Dawn Moeser, introducing the Board of Directors and the businesses in attendance followed by a blessing from Pastor Steven Pettit, of the New Hope Assembly of God Church, and a message of thanks to the people he has met in his short time in the community of Kimball.
"Before I moved here I wondered why someone would move to a small town in Nebraska, but now that I have been here I am starting to see why, I am really starting to love it here," Pettit said.
Moeser urged those in attendance to focus on what we have and what we can do to grow the community.
"Empty storefronts, and nothing to do are just a few of the things we hear about Kimball," said Moeser. "We need to be positive and support what we have."
Awards were given, presented by vice-president Geneva Withrow, to local businesses and citizens for community involvement and investment.
The 2018 Community Impact Award was presented to Beer and Loathing (left); Kimball Recycling Center received the Community Investment Award (center) and the Friend of the Chamber Award was presented to Assunta Nelson (right).
