The Kimball girl’s JV got blasted at Sidney 50-12 with Megan Spicer scoring half of Kimball’s points with 6. Jaden Paxton, Bailie Brower and Emma Marin all had 2 each.
The most exciting game of the weekend for any Kimball team was the JV girl’s game with Chase County. With out a doubt it was the best effort of the season for coach Tiffany Johnson’s JV ladies.
Kimball ended up losing 35-34 but Lacey Klinkhammer tried to extend the game into overtime as she nailed a 16 footer to beat the buzzer and was just inside the arc when she needed a 3 pointer . Lacey had hit a trey just a few seconds earlier to close to 35-32.
It was a contest that Kimball led 8-3 at the quarter, and 16-15 at half time and it stayed tight all the way. Emma Martin was high for Kimball with 10 points, Megan Spicer had 9, Klinkhammer and Jenna Greenwood had 6 each, Raven Johnson and Bailie Brower 2 each. The Kimball girls are now an even 4 and 4 on the season. Due to all of the injuries on the Kimball roster, all remaining freshman games, including Monday’s game at Mitchell, have been cancelled. JV games with Bridgeport Friday evening will begin at 4 p.m. and on Saturday at 2 p.m. with both nights home games with Bridgeport and Gordan/Rushville.
