What started off to be the reality of another MAC Tournament Championship ended in runner-up spot for the Potter-Dix Lady Coyotes.
First round action was with the Lady Indians of Minatare last Monday with the Lady Coyotes taking a 10 win to head to the second round of tournament play looking at a game Thursday night against South Platte.
The Lady Coyotes took control of the game heading into half time with a score of 16-8. South Platte tried to play catch up in the second half but fell just short leading the Lady Coyotes to head to the Championship game in Bridgeport Saturday with a final score of 36-29.
The Lady Tigers of Bayard were ready to face off with the game was tight throughout the first three peroids. At the end of the first quarter the score was tied eight to eight, the Potter-Dix girls were able to put up a few more points then Bayard in the second period heading into half time with a score of 17-13 with Potter-Dix in controll. Third quarter action was tight again with the Lady Coyotes scoring nine to Bayards eight points, but it was the last quarter when the Lady Tigers were able to pounce on the Coyotes out scoring them 17-0 ending the game 38-26 with a MAC Tournament win for the Bayard Lady Tigers.
Scoring for the Lady Coyotes again it was seniors Audrey Juelfs with 18 and Trinity Langley with eight. Langley was able to pull down nine rebounds with three blocked shots. Juelfs had five boards and one blocked shot for Potter-Dix.
The Lady Coyotes will face off with Minatare again this Saturday, Jan. 27 at home.
