Elsie M. Vogel

Elsie M. Vogel, 76, of Kimball, died at her home in Kimball on Wednesday, January 31, 2018. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 2018 at the First English Lutheran Church in Kimball with Pastor Caryl Miller officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Friends may stop at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. to sign Elsie's register book and leave condolences for the family. Memorials may be given to the First English Lutheran Church or the Kimball Eagle's Aerie 1883. The services for Elsie have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Elsie Marie Vogel was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on September 5, 1941, the daughter of John and Martha (Schneider) Mossberg. She lived and was raised in Kimball and graduated from the Kimball High School in 1959. She attended business school at Parks College in Denver for 2 years. When she returned to Kimball, she worked at the American National Bank as a teller. She was married to George Vogel on September 17, 1961. The family lived and raised their children in Kimball. Elsie went to work for Kimball County as manager of the Extension Office. She was always busy with her job and helping whereever she was needed. She was also a partner with her brothers in Mossberg Farms. She loved bowling and enjoyed watching her granddaughter play basketball, she never missed a game when her granddaughter was playing. She had a golden heart and would help anyone in need. She was very active in her church. She served as treasurer for the First English Lutheran Church, the Ministerial Association, the Eagle's Club, the Kimball Handy Bus and Mossberg Farms. She will be missed by all.

Survivors include her mother Martha Mossberg of Kimball, NE; son Todd (Lynn) Vogel of Kimball, NE; daughter Dee Vogel of Gering, NE; brothers Kenneth Mossberg of Kimball, NE., and Marshall Mossberg of Kimball, NE; granddaughter Shelby Vogel; nieces and nephews Christopher (Sandy) Mossberg, Andrea (Rob) Bryant, Brandon (Chelsea) Mossberg, Chisholm Mossberg and Chelsea Mossberg; numerous great nieces and nephews and Special Friends Sharon & Richard Gehrke, George Vogel and Louie Leahl.
