Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Do you like the thrill of rodeo? The laughter of a circus? If so, then this next event in Kimball is going to be just what you are waiting for - Kimball Ranch Rodeo is proud to present Donkey Basketball.
Yes you read right, real life donkeys with members of your own community playing basketball on and with the donkeys. Dairyland Donkey Ball, out of Wisconsin, has been in business for three generations and still being laughed at. Kimball is the first stop on the spring road to entertaining communities everywhere with a little mix of rodeo and circus fun.
Mark your calendars for March 2, at 7:30 p.m. at the Kimball High School. The Ranch Rodeo committee will also be serving “Breakfast for Dinner” from 6-7.
This night of fun and laughter will be entertainment for all ages with four teams of members of the Kimball community having to lead their donkeys around to play and having to be mounted on the donkey to shoot. There will be two-16 minute games played, then an eight minute championship game to decide the wining team, with donkey rides being given at half-time of the games.
A couple of “special” donkeys will be subbed into the championship game to shake things up a bit, these three “special” go by the names of Buckmaster, Killer, and Hemorrhoid.
Tickets are available for pre-sale at Larsen’s Jewelry, Kimball Auto Parts, and HomeTown Hardware, but are also available at the door the night of the fun and games.
Anyone interested in sponsoring a donkey or a game, please contact Justin Perry or Alex Engstrom.
Proceeds will go to the Kimball Ranch Rodeo which will be held this summer on June 9.
