Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Payge Hoffman and Trinity Langley accounted for a good share of the scoring for the Potter-Dix Girls at the Bayard C-D Track Invite this past week, with both bringing home gold medals.
Hoffman got her gold in winning the long jump with a leap of 15’3” and Langley took home the gold in the high jump, clearing 5’0” to win the event. Hoffman also ran 4th in the 300 hurdles with her time of 53.98, teamed with Virginia Herboldsheimer, Fedaline Schuessler, and McKynna Deeds to run 6th in the 4x100 relay, and then joined with Jessica Gingerich, December Wright, and Langley to run 8th in the 4x400 relay with their time of 5:01.83. Langley also finished 8th in the triple jump at 30’1”, and ran a time of 31.28 in the prelims of the 200 meters and just missed qualifying for the finals.
Other non-placing performances by the Potter-Dix girls, but worthy of mention, was the 12th place finish in the 400 by Gingerich with a time of 1:13.36. Schuessler ran 11th in the 100 meter hurdle prelims with her time of 21.13 and Wright ran 14th in 21.94. Schuessler ran 16th in the 300 hurdles in 1:05.62, and Wright ran 17th in 1:07.13. Wright tied for 7th in the pole vault at 6’6” and Reagan Williams cleared 6’0”.
The Potter-Dix girls finished 9th in the team standings with 25 points, but the Coyote boys failed to score a point in the team standings. The best place for the boys was a 9th place in the high jump by Dylan Nielsen at 5’2”.
