Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
GED classes are up and running smoothly in Kimball. Classes started the first week of April.
“We have eight students right now attending classes,” said Daria Faden, Kimball’s instructor.
New students interested in joining must go through enrollment first, then will be able to attend orientation during the first week of the month.
Classes are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Kimball Public Library.
Thanks to many community members and the City of Kimball who wrote letters to WNCC explaining their thoughts on the needs of a GED class located in Kimball. There are four different TABE tests that are taken for each course. Courses include, social studies, language arts, math and science. Four of the eight students are currently ready to take their social studies tests in Scottsbluff at the WNCC campus.
“I thought it was a program that was much needed in Kimball,” Faden added also stating everyone is working really hard to get things done and done right. She also commented on how accommodating the library has been.
Remember that they are taking new students the first week of the month so if interested in starting classes in May, now is a great time to get in and speak with her about your future goals.
