Donna L. Evans, 85, of Kimball, died at Kimball Health Services on Friday, April 20, 2018. Graveside services were held on Monday, April 23, 2018 at the Kimball Cemetery. Friends may visit http://www.cantrellfh.com to view Donna’s Tribute Wall and leave condolences and stories for the family. Memorials may be given to the family. The services for Donna have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.
Donna Lee Evans was born in Russell, Kansas on January 1, 1933, the daughter of George and Sophie (Michels) Strecker. She was raised and attended school in Russell. She worked for Bell Telephone Company as an operator. Donna was married to Billy Evans on May 23, 1953 in Russell, Kansas. The couple moved to Kimball in 1953 and Donna worked as a homemaker taking care of her family. She went to work for GRI and worked there in quality control for many years. Donna then went to work for First State Bank as a bookkeeper. She later moved to American National Bank and worked in their bookkeeping department. She loved gardening and enjoyed the flowers that she grew. She loved to crochet and knit and she also was a great seamstress, and made many of her childrens’ clothes. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and will be missed by her family.
Survivors include her daughters Jenny Tachiquin of Kimball, NE., and Pamela Powell of Dix, NE; 3 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers and 1 granddaughter Arecia Lee
