Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Jock Talk

The Nebraska Boy’s State Golf Tournament pretty much wraps up the High School Sports activities for this year, but there are some All Star contests yet to be held this summer, starting with this Saturday evening with the 24th Panhandle Prep All Star Basketball Games being held at the WNCC Cougar Palace in Scottsbluff.

The girl’s game tips off at 5:50 p.m., followed by the boys. The select members will report for practice on Friday. There will also be slam dunk and 3-point shooting contests. Kimball’s Alex Reader, is reported to be involved in the 3-point shooting, but is still not released to play due to her knee surgery. Kimball’s Hanna Biesecker, will be a member of the girl’s Green Team.

On the girls’ Orange Team, Potter-Dix will have Audrey Juelfs, along with Coach Lance Juelfs. Banner County will have a pair of players on the Orange Team in McKenna Dahlgrin and Courtney Knisley.

Although the High School golf is completed, there is still a lot of golf happenings to take place. The Junior Panhandle Tour will hold a tournament at the Kimball Four Winds Course on June 6th, so be sure and call for tee times, as the course will be closed to open play for a short period of time only.

------------------------Four Winds Pro, Chad Wise, also announces the proposed Member-Guest Tournament that was to be held this weekend, has now been postponed until sometime later in July. We will let you know when a date has been set.

It is time to get your 3-person team signed up for the annual Father’s Day Classic. As usual, this is a two-day, 3-person scramble on Father’s Day weekend, June 16-17. This is such a fun tournament with so many family members returning to Kimball to spend the weekend with their family and play golf on the lush Four Winds Golf Course.

Next event after the Father’s Day Classic is the Teammates scramble on June 30th.
