Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
Many Korean and Viet Nam War veterans will travel through Kimball at approximately 1 p.m., today, Thursday, Nov. 1, escorted by the Patriot Guard riders, on their way to Denver International Airport.
From DIA these honored few will fly to Washington D.C. to view the memorials from their respective wars.
Their trip, at no cost to the veterans, is provided by Honor Flight Network and is meant to honor the heroes and provide closure to them. Often they are accompanied by a friend or family member as they travel to our nation's capital.
Previous Honor Flight caravans carried veterans who fought in World War II who are given top priority.
Every one in Kimball is invited to line Highway 71 in a show of gratitude and honor as the veterans and their escorts pass by.
