Monika B. Gordon

Monika B. Gordon, 72, of Kimball died at her home in Kimball on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Father Robert Karnish officiating. Cremation was held and inurnment will be held at a later date. Friends may stop at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. to sign the register book and leave condolences for the family. The services for Monika have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Monika B. Gordon was born in Liestal, Switzerland on July 3, 1946, the daughter of Eugene and Hilda (Kübler) Borer. She was raised and received her early education in Switzerland. On October 7, 1967 she was married to Gerald Gordon in Switzerland. They moved to the United States in December of 1967. She became a U.S. citizen in the early 1980's. She received her degree in accounting from Metropolitan State College of Denver. Monika worked for H&R Block in tax preparation. Monika and Gerald moved to Kimball in 2002. While in Kimball she worked for the Census Bureau for several years before her retirement. Monika loved stamp collecting and was a life member of the Philatelic Society. She was an avid book collector and enjoyed time sitting on the porch reading. Monika had many charities that she donated to, including knitting blankets and donating them to Regional West Medical Center as gifts for the new born babies and their families. She also enjoyed studying astrology and the meaning in all of the zodiac signs. Her family was important to her, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Gerald Gordon of Kimball, NE; children Catherine McCoy of Westminster, CO., Andrew (Dana) Gordon of Westminster, CO., Elizabeth Gordon of Aurora, CO., and Richard (Jennifer) Gordon of Greeley, CO; sister Anne (Heinz) Roth-Borer of Switzerland;13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and 1 great grandchild.
