Shopping local increases local Christmas spirit

Christmas in Kimball is coming to town once again this holiday season and Santa's Helpers urge citizens to keep Christmas shopping at home, providing Christmas spirit at home.

Santa's Helpers are kicking off the spirit this weekend beginning with the Jingle Bell Market at the Eagles Club from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. A Christmas Centerpiece Silent Auction will take place from 10-5 with winners announced at 5:30 following the close of the auction.

Eagles Soup Supper will be held from 4-5:30 with the Trinity Bell Choir to preform.

The highly anticipated Parade of Lights-Candy Canes and Gumdrops will begin at 5:45 on 2nd street. Following the parade Santa will be available in his den at the Eagles Club for photos along with Kimball's Rodeo Royalty.

Dec. 1 is Christmas Story Time with Kiwanis and Farmers Day Royalty at the Kimball Public Library from 10-11 a.m.

The movie Rise of the Guardian will be playing at the Goodhand Theater at 2 p.m. with a chance to meet Santa from 1:30-2 before the show.

The deadline to enter the Christmas Lighting and Decor Contest is Dec. 13, judging will take place Dec. 22, contact Amy Sapp at econdev.kimballne.org or at 235-3782 for more information.

On Dec. 15 Santa will make one more appearance at the First English Lutheran Church Basement for donuts and to decorate Christmas Ornaments from 9-11 a.m.
